Liu Jianhua was born in 1962 in Ji ‘an, Jiangxi Province, China. He now lives and works in Shanghai, China. He is one of the most experimental and representative artists in the field of contemporary Chinese art. Liu Jianhua’s ceramic and composite works reflect the economic and social changes that have plagued China in recent years.
His works have been collected by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tate Modern in London, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Guggenheim Museum in New York and many other institutions.
