Helen Martin was born in 1985 in Macclesfield, England. Her work spans sculpture, painting, video and writing, and her artistic practice consists of images and objects, often involving both two and three dimensions. The installations, in turn, exploit the ambiguity of vision and language, aiming to explore the potential for misinterpretation and understanding.
Martin is the recipient of the 2016 Hepworth Prize for Sculpture as well as the 2016 Turner Prize.
