START Star Art Museum will launch a large-scale solo exhibition of artist Yan Bing Art Museum, “Apple Orchard”, on November 5, 2024, and the project was triggered by an autobiographical novel written four years ago.
In his more than ten years of painting artistic exploration, Yan Bing has continued to use still life as the main body of his creation. From fur and potatoes to mushrooms and broken wood…… In the depiction of still lifes again and again, the artist realizes the transcendence of the object itself, and completes the construction of natural monuments with an eternal quiet temperament, showing a strong inspiration of the original power. Yan Bing’s creative progress is extremely slow and classical. Finally, this time, he found the bright and ancient theme of “apple” to challenge. Apples come from the apple orchard he planted at home in his childhood, and in his eyes, apples are quite magical, both regular and bright, contemporary and classical, and anyone who has studied the basic training of painting is extremely familiar with this object. At the same time, it carries complex and multi-dimensional meanings in the history of human culture. “Apple” is undoubtedly the most complex, arduous and necessary exploration in Yan Bing’s artistic career.
In this exhibition, START Star Art Museum will exhibit nearly 30 new creations related to “apples” by Yan Bing.
